UPDATE (2/26/2023): The bulb that is linked is not the same bulb I shared in my video on Instagram. I changed to this one because it last longer and comes with a remote to turn it on and off. The other bulb came with the adapter because it was necessary for that bulb. This one does not. Thank you for your support!
I am so excited to share this lamp hack with you all! It has been a game changer for me. It all started when I bought this beautiful lamp for my entryway without realizing that I don’t have an outlet to plug it into. So, I discovered a way to make it work and I am going to share it with you all today!
You are going to have to purchase rechargeable light bulbs and a cord organizer. Here is the link to everything I used. The light bulbs I use come with an adapter that you plug the cord into. These light bulbs are meant for emergency situations like when the power goes out because they will stay on as long as they are charged. I charge mine by screwing it into a lamp that is plugged into an outlet. That seems to be the easiest solution. I actually use these light bulbs in every lamp in my house that way if we do lose power my house will stay lit. The next thing you need is the cord organizer. I wrapped the cord around the organizer then stuck it to the back of my table. The organizer has a command strip on the back so it is super easy to use.
I posted a full video on my Instagram that shows you step by step how to do this hack. Follow this link to watch the video.
XOXO,
Kimmie

Aww I’m sorry I don’t have an idea for this one off the top of my head but I’ll look into it! 😊

I followed the link to shop this post but the bulbs it sent me to on Amazon did not come with the adapter to plug the lamp into. I understand the concept behind the rechargeable bulbs like charging them in regular lamps periodically but don’t understand what this adapter would do.

I made an update on Instagram that I changed bulbs. I removed the one you saw in my video because it didn’t come with a remote to turn it on and off. I think the purpose with the other bulb was to compete the circuit but didn’t need it with this one. It just came with the other bulb.

Hey there! I posted an update that the bulb I switched to doesn’t need an adapter. The original bulb I shared came with one. This one doesn’t and it last longer and has a remote so you can turn it on and off and dim it.

Does the adapter come with the light, or do buy it separately
kimmiebogucki says
It came with the light bulb I shared in the video; however, I changed the light bulb I use and the one linked is different than the one in the video and doesn’t require the adapter.

Can you share the info about the first light bulb and setup? The one in the video?

I ended up switching to the light bulb you see linked now. I removed the other one because it did not stay charged long. It came with the adapter to complete the circuit but this one doesn’t and it last longer and has a remote to turn it on and off.

Where did you buy the bulb that last the longest and the adapter

It’s from Amazon. It’s linked at the end of my blog post under “shop the post”
